Licensed Counselor
Part-time & Full-time Positions
Description
The Counselor’s role is to provide psychotherapy counseling services including assessments, individual/family/group counseling, treatment planning, coordination of care, and discharge/transition. These services are delivered in accordance with licensing board requirements and all relevant laws and regulations.
The Counselor demonstrates a willingness to learn and actively collaborates with the team and leadership to develop new skills, improve treatment approaches, address issues, and solve problems.
The Counselor is responsible for upholding and supporting the core values of HopeWay Group LLC, which include compassion, integrity, and expertise in all communication, relationships, and interactions. The Counselor is also comfortable practicing from both a secular and Christian faith perspective, and actively participates in opportunities to learn new skills in this area of practice.
Requirements
- Ability to work on-site at our Bel Air, MD or Elkton, MD office locations
- Minimum master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
- Active Maryland license in good standing as a LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPG, LCPC, LGMFT, LCMFT

Internship Program

Description
The Intern’s role is to provide support and psychotherapy counseling services, including assessments, individual/family/group counseling, treatment planning, coordination of care, and discharge/transition, under the supervision of the student’s clinical program administrator and on-site clinical/field supervisor.
The Intern demonstrates a willingness to learn and actively collaborates with the team and leadership to develop new skills, improve treatment approaches, address issues, and solve problems.
The Intern will have the opportunity to develop resource and administrative knowledge and skills in accordance with their learning contract.
The Intern is responsible for upholding and supporting the core values of HopeWay Group LLC, which include compassion, integrity, and expertise in all communication, relationships, and interactions. The Intern is also comfortable practicing from both a secular and Christian faith perspective, and actively participates in opportunities to learn new skills in this area of practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and provision of clinical counseling to individuals, families, and couples who request and consent to treatment.
- Participates in all individual and group supervision as required.
- Complete all documentation in real time or within 24 hours of the session.
- Engage and interact with others in a way that creates a warm, calming, and safe environment.
- Is sensitive and understanding of similarities and differences in belief systems.
- Does not impose personal expressions and practices of their faith on to others, rather, relies on the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit to guide and direct self and clients, submitting to the authority of the Bible for faith, conduct, and all facets of life.
- Provides care using guided questioning, empathic support, clarifying problems and needs, utilizing reflections and reading, prayer, and scripture to encourage wholeness and healing.
- Ensure all privacy and confidentiality is upheld.
- Actively participate and interact in staff meetings and events.
- Demonstrates eagerness to learn and engage in performance improvement initiatives.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures and federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Complies with all educational institution’s requirements of practicum placement.

Qualifications
- Current enrollment, at the graduate level, in a clinical mental health/counseling educational program with an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Must successfully complete background screen and applicable references.
- Must provide and maintain professional liability insurance.

You must be enrolled in a Master’s level accredited counseling program that requires a counseling internship for graduation. You must be able to work onsite, providing both in-person and virtual counseling, at one of our locations.
We do offer a student stipend for advanced placement, clinical internships providing at least 10 clinical hours per week.
