Sound like a fit for you? Here’s the nuts and bolts of the Licensed Counselor position:

The Counselor’s role is to provide psychotherapy counseling services including assessments, individual/family/group counseling, treatment planning, coordination of care, and discharge/transition. These services are delivered in accordance with licensing board requirements and all relevant laws and regulations.

The Counselor demonstrates a willingness to learn and actively collaborates with the team and leadership to develop new skills, improve treatment approaches, address issues, and solve problems.

The Counselor is responsible for upholding and supporting the core values of HopeWay Group LLC, which include compassion, integrity, and expertise in all communication, relationships, and interactions. The Counselor is also comfortable practicing from both a secular and Christian faith perspective, and actively participates in opportunities to learn new skills in this area of practice.

As a new, locally owned and operated mental health group, we look forward to offering opportunities for our counselors to provide other services if they are interested, such as participating in trainings and marketing events.

Requirements

  • Minimum master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Active Maryland license in good standing as a LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPG, LCPC, LGMFT, LCMFT

  • Ability to provide clinical counseling from both a secular and Christian faith perspective.
  • Demonstrate compassion and humility in all interactions with clients, staff, and visitors.
  • Engage and interact with clients and visitors in a way that creates a warm, calming, and safe environment.
  • Remains teachable and eager to learn and implement new processes and procedures.
  • Upholds a high level of personal integrity, accountability, and honesty.
  • Flexible working style and able to tolerate ambiguity and adjust to changes, as is common in startups.
  • Managing mental health crisis in calm and safe manner.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working environment with a multidisciplinary team of providers and staff.
